倘能回到明朝的洪武十八年 (公元1385年)，你会见一位富商站在屯溪率水、横江、渐江交汇的三江口，对穿梭往来的帆船微笑。这位富商是休宁尤溪人程维宗。他依横江边华山岭下建起的“八家栈”，成为老街商业兴盛的起源。

屯溪老街，依河流走向为略呈弯曲的直线，其中八家栈至上马路段为曲尺形。老街全长1272米，唐风宋韵，古色古香。

Dating back to the year 1385 of the Ming dynasty, therewas a wealthy merchant standing at Sanjiangkou port andsmiling to the sailing ships that passed by. The port is wherethe shuaishui River of Tunxi, Hengjiang River and JianjiangRiver met, and the merchant is Cheng Weizong from Youxi ofXiuning County. His hotel (Bajia Inn), built on the banks of theHengjiang River and under the Huashanling Hill, witnessedthe development and prosperity of the Ancient Street of Tunxi.
Ancient Street in Tunxi District is a slightly curved line alongthe river. The section from Bajia Inn to the motorway was inthe shape of a curved ruler.
步入老街，迎面撞见古朴、繁华的气象。平整如诗的石板路，将两旁雕梁画栋的徽派建筑串成了一部经典的诗画文章。人们习惯地叫它“流动的清明上河图”。数不尽的小吃糕点，徽州的山间土产，还有爱不释手的文房四宝，流连忘返的各色主题纪念馆……一间屋或一挑担，浏览其间，纵然规模不大，也足以记录与保存老街的历史和风情。走累了，在街中茶店沏上一壶茶，沉浸在淡泊优雅的余香里。
老街上万粹楼 Wancui Tower on Ancient Tunxi Street
倘再深入一点，走入各色店面间悠然出现的、蜿蜒向深处的小巷，便可寻访高高墙面掩映着的岁月。那墙角的一两枝花朵，在依稀透露的阳光下微笑，仿若线装古书里飘荡出的陈年纸香，传递出“中国历史文化名街”的优雅底蕴。
The quaint and prosperous atmosphere would be thefirst impression for visitors to the Ancient Street. Thestone-paved street smooth as poetry strings the HuiSchool architecture along the street as a paintingscroll. People used to call it "Along the River Duringthe Qingming Festival" in reality.
If you go a little deeper, into the lanes leisurely windingto the depth of the street, you can find the sceneries ofthe times hidden behind the high walls.
休闲在老街 Leisure in the old street
率水和横江从崇山峻岭中盘曲而出，在此相融交汇。老街入口，连接黎阳古镇的老桥是镇海桥，当地人习惯地称为“老大桥”，国家级重点文物保护单位，隆阜人戴广宪倾重资倡建于明嘉靖十五年(公元1536年)，后程于谦及其子程岳重修。
遥想当时，碧水汇流、万船竞发，桥面人来车往，熙熙攘攘的繁华景象，被很多诗文或版画描绘，使这座五百年的老大桥已然成为屯溪的象征。作家郁达夫在此夜宿，颇有感触地吟诗：“新安江水碧悠悠，两岸人家散若舟。几夜屯溪桥下梦，断肠春色似扬州。”
树影婆娑、车水马龙。一代代人从老桥上走过，留下了岁月的印痕。历史在风中回响，沧桑写成了故事。2020年7月，山洪给老大桥带来了灾难，也牵动了社会的心。
屯溪老街门楼 Gate to the Ancient Tunxi Street
春风吹后，老大桥重获新生，屯溪又充满了无限活力。
The Shuaishui River and the Hengjiang River wind out from themountainous areas and converge here. At the entrance to Ancient Street, the old bridge connecting the ancient town of Liyang County is the Zhenhai Bridge, which is known to the locals as the "ancient bridge". It is one Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level, built in 1536 by Dai Guangxian with huge amount of money at that time, and reconstructed by Cheng Yuqian and his son Cheng Yue.
Generation after generation of people went across the Ancient Bridge, leaving the imprint of the years. History echoes in the wind, the vicissitudes of life is written into a story. In July 2020, torrential floods brought disaster to the bridge and worried all those who cared about it.
With the spring breeze, the ancient bridge is repaired and reconstructed, bringing life to Tunxi District again.
